Smoked Spatchcock Turkey

Looking for a faster way to smoke your turkey? Spatchcocking or removing the backbone is the quickest and simplest way to cook your turkey. This is a great choice for a large turkey because it allows for a more even cook. This easy recipe smokes the turkey using Cookinpellets Perfect Mix giving the bird a wonderful smoky flavor. Instructions
Prep
  1. Begin by removing the backbone of the turkey.
  2. Inject the breast, legs, wings, and thighs with the injectable butter
  3. Spread butter under the skin on top of the turkey breast
  4. Season the turkey evenly with your favorite poultry seasoning blend
Cooking
  1. Fill the hopper of your smoker with Cookinpellets Perfect Mix and preheat to 275 degrees
  2. Once the smoker is at the desired temperature, add the turkey
  3. Every 30 minutes baste the turkey with injectable butter
  4. The turkey is done when it reaches an internal temp of 165 degrees on the thickest part of the breast and 175 degrees on the thigh. The cooking will take approximately 3-4 hours.
