I love these pellets but Amazon just jacked up the price by $4.80. Ordered mine less than a week ago, told a friend how good they were and how much. Couldn't believe it!

I am changing my review of cooking pellets from 01 to 04 after talking to the manufacturer . I spoke with them on the phone they were very concerned over the situation and promptly found out what the problem was and took care of it . They listened to my concerns and seemed very sincere and wanted to rectify the problem. Mistakes happen and it's really nice when you find a company that wants to fix the mistakes in order to make the best product.Original review- I've been buying these pellets for I don't know how long and now I'm starting to get plastic in them what does that mean probably going somewhere else ! Two different pellets and I threw some away before I thought to do this because I'm not really this way but it's not right you're cooking your food with plastic !

    Nice Flavor, but beware...

I have a Pitt Boss pellet grill, I've swapped out the digital controller to a pellet pro, it's a great grill now. I was using traeger pellets but the things I cooked simply didn't have a lot of flavor. These pellets deliver. However, despite the thick smoke rings and taste, the other negative reviews aren't without merit. These pellets are dusty, create A LOT of ash, gunk up your auger. I've had burn back 3 times since I started using them (no biggie, when I notice the hopper smouldering I simply turn off the grill, hit feed until all the burnt material is in the burn pot and carry on). I use the grill primarily in my garage (I have a fan and I don't want my grill in the rain). I have a shop vac right next to it, I've noticed that these pellets are fine IF I take the time every 2 or 3 cooks to vacuum out the burn pot and auger with the shop vac. I'm not a clean freak, but if you use these be prepared. Traeger seems to hold together better, but these make your food taste better. There's just a bit of work involved. I will keep using these. I do use smoke tubes, so I might go back to reliable fuel and use these pellets for the tubes. Regardless they do produce a great flavor, they just require a bit more work. I'm giving them 4 stars because since I started using them, despite the issues, the food tastes great!

    The Real Deal Folks!

Hands down the best pellets I've ever used. I use pellets in my smoke generator and the previous ones were obviously not all Hickory. The old ones (not this brand) made a lot of smoke, but it was harsh and bitter, only good for beef. I received these yesterday and smoked 15lbs of chicken leg quarters. I could tell right way that these pellets were much different, the smoke was pleasant and sweet smelling instead of harsh. These pellets are also of a larger diameter and burned slower, although there was still plenty of smoke. I have never been so pleased, the chicken and sausages were the best I have ever made. This blend is excellent for milder meats, but I bet it's great on beef too. I will smoke a brisket or beef ribs soon and report back. I highly recommend these pellets.

Good stuff, but quit saying Oak is a filler...

Good pellets. I flip between these and Lumberjack. Kinda weird that Cookinpellets pitch that oak wood is a filler, since most Texas Bar-B-Q is cooked over oak. Franklin's , Snow's, Muellers...all oak smoke...guess that 'filler' is pretty good. Hickory is my second choice, so I get the perfect mix, as the fruit woods cut out some of that bacon'y flavor hickory imparts. Good stuff, but I can get oak blends at Lumberjack, and 'no' it is not a filler

Works pretty good, Traeger pellets are still better.

Posted by Theunis Moll on Jan 6th 2017

Traeger pellets will always work best for your Traeger grill, but these work okay. I'm just lazy, and don't want to get the 20lb bags from Traeger, so I get these 40lb bags for the same price.

    Awesome But Be Careful!!!!

Best cooking pellets for the money here on Amazon. I have now purchased 6 bags of the perfect mix for my Traeger Smoker (purchased from Costco roadshow). I've purchased BBQ Delight pellets from their website, but they do not sell large quantities here on Amazon. The mix is better in my opinion and the opinion of my family who eats the food. Pellets are great for brisket (very long smoke) and pulled pork (long smoke). The verdict is still out on chicken as it is tough to smoke with the skin. One note, these do leave a fair amount of ash. After a very long smoke, I vacuum out the ash before smoking anything else. The amount of ash is same as BBQ Delight pellets. One bad thing about these pellets. The shipping. They come in a cardboard box which is very snug with the plastic bag. If you use scissors to open the box you will cut the plastic and need to put the pellets in a container.

Used many different woods in my older made in the USA Traeger and mostly use these pellets now. Once every six months or so something looks interesting and I'll give it a try, but always come back to these for the flavor, consistency and value. Traeger pellets use filler and scented oils (it's on the bag), so I don't buy them anymore. This works well with most everything. Of course, you'll get the most flavor for Mesquite and the most heat from a harder wood like Hickory. This blend maxes out at about 350 degrees Fahrenheit while the hardwoods get up to 425, YMMV. Most everything I smoke/cook can be done at/under 350 degrees, so this mix works well.Aside: Replaced the standard temperature control module with this one: "Digital Thermostat Kit for Traeger Grills by Ortech" (search for it here on Amazon) and the grill maintains temperature much better than with the original unit. Plus it gives incredible control of the SMOKE setting allowing the speed and duty cycle to be configured.

Great pellets. They seemed to last longer than other pellets I've used. One hopperfull for a 7 hour cook on a Traeger tailgater. The flavor is pretty strong, I'd probably stick to beef. I think this might be pretty strong flavors for pork or chicken. Just did a 6 hour brisket cook and only went through about half of the hopper;defintely burns longer than Traeger's pellets. My wife who is very fussy about smoke flavor actually thinks the flavor is relatively mild.
